Default Yay! New Pistol. (To me at least)

I just picked this up on Friday. I've been on the prowl for a SC for quite some time but didn't come across any that I liked. I found this at Gander Mtn of all places and for a decent deal.

    It's a Taurus PT145 Millennium .45ACP.

I know these get mixed reviews but I shot a box through it today and I love it. I'm still getting used to the trigger pull. I'm used to my beretta as when it has a stopping point until fire as where the taurus is straight through.

But I figurered this will be my new CC gun as it being 3.3 it's a little easier to conceal than the px4. Just sharing a few pictures from the range today. They aren't anything special. I need to clean them both up.

And just for Gits and Shiggles. The size difference between the two hollowpoints I carry in my weapons.

they're both pretty nice. kind of opposite of how I went: XD45 compact and Taurus Slim 9mm subcompact.

Excellent choice. Install a set of Williams Firesight sights and never look back.

Buds and Optical Planet have the best prices.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

Taurus really needs to stop writing all over their guns. Congrats on the new gun though.

    congrats.

personally i sort of went the oppisit you did. i was going to adopt the millennium .40 from my father when i started CCing several years ago; however after 3 trips back to the Taurus factory for a reassembly issue (once it was apart it refused to reassemble properly. very loose and very shaky) i decided to go with Beretta. granted theres the possibility it was one in a million bad one but first impressions last the longest.

however it was the first pistol i ever shot when i was 17. kicked like a mule, my hand hurt for 2 days after.... funny thing is after all that, all 3 of my Berettas (both Px4 & Cx4 Storms as well as my 9000s) are all .40s

Looks good, how's the recoil of a .45acp in a subcompact handgun?

It's honestly not bad at all in my opinion. I'm not trying to sound like a tough guy either. A full size S&W .40 seemed to have more recoil than this .45. It's quite managable. I put just a box of target rounds through it to get a feel for it as well as have some friends shoot it.

I'm planning on going to an indoor range here directly and practice my aiming and drawing with it. But so far I love it.

My PT145 becomes my winter CC gun. I love it, but since I might have to target a person wearing heavy clothing I use PowrBalls. Hearing the problems associated with it, I picked one up used. Then ran several more hundred rounds through it to 'break' it in.

    Good find,
