Re: Just for fun
Well, under that scenario,
"Terrain is filthy swampy jungle than desert.
You won't having Any cleaning supplies"
The only choice IS 1911A1, of which there is no whicher. I've proved that one for myself.
Next, if I could have it, would be an AK, or maybe a little lighter, a M1-30 cal Carbine. Maybe a pot-bellied M-2, but they are just a bit more finicky. Without cleaning supplies and eqpt, the M-16 is not what I'd choose.
Both relatively useful within that limitation.
But "Old Slabsides" will prevail where others will fail. Yes, heavier than a Glock, not nearly as elegant as a Sig, and revolvers will choke up and, according to Murph, at the worst possible time. JMB "will prevail" .
Flash
I'm surprised you didn't offer JMB's step-child, the P-35 in 9mm.

Voted for Sig but wish I had a second vote for 1911

Re: Just for fun
Glock was built for that scenario. You can argue that XYZ handgun is equal to a Glock's perfomance, but there isn't one out there that is a clear choice better than a Glock for any battle scenario.

1911 every time. I know the pistol well and if it got too dirty, I would start shredding my t-shirt or other articles of clothing to get it running again.
YMMVWhen you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Re: Just for fun
Glock may have been built for that scenario, the 1911 has been there and done that for many years in that same environment. I know they were cleaned but not as much as you think. I would stake my life on a proven performer over a newer model with claims.
Don't think for one second I am bashing Glocks, I have a G32 and it is my primary carry piece. I love that pistol, just love the 1911 more.
IMHO both pistols are accurate and reliable, I have been trained on and can trouble shoot a 1911 better than I can a Glock. When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

Would love to try the Glock 18 that I saw on tv last week, seems like only military/swat can get their hands on them.
