Question FTF deal w/NJ FFL employee?

1st, I am an NJ resident, not a PA resident!!

I know FTF sales of handguns is illegal in NJ. The buyer of my SP101 says he is a "pink card employee" of an NJ FFL holder.

Is there a legal way to do a FTF transaction with him or am I to ship it to his shop as usual?

If it's crossing state lines (i.e. going from PA to NJ) it must go to an FFL. Meaning (as far as I know) the address listed on the Federal Firearms License.

If it's in state, then maybe there's a way around it but I know I wouldn't mess around in NJ. It'll cost you the same to ship either way, so I'd advise you to play it safe.

I don't know what a pink-card employee is, but as far as I know if the law requires it to go to an FFL, that means the address listed on the Federal Firearms License.

I have no idea about NJ.
But it sounds like he may be trying to do something he's not supposed to do.
If it sounds suspicious to you, I'd just ship it to the shop and avoid the FTF deal.

Unless you can have the actual FFL holder of the shop do an in-person transfer for you.

A FTF Handgun sale in NJ (between two NJ residents) is not illegal. As long as the buyer has a Pistol Permit, you can complete the sale, you filling in the permit as the seller and forwarding the copies as indicated on the permit to the NJSP, the issuing PD, a copy for you (seller), and one to the buyer. The buyer working for an FFL has no effect on the sale unless he is trying to claim he doesn't need a permit. If he is claiming that, avoid the guy because he does, unless he is the actual FFL holder and is putting the gun into his inventory.

ANY sale of a firearm between residents of 2 different states requires the use of a FFL on the buyers end if a pistol, or either end, if a title 1 rifle(as long as buyers state allows it)... anything else is a Federal felony.

then consult NJ law. since FOIDs and police permission slips are involved from what i gather, do whatever NJ law says.

    This is dead on accurate.^^^
He needs a FPID and a valid pistol purchase permit to buy your pistol.
If he says otherwise he's lying and you need to get as far away from him as possible!
