Default Presidential Death Threats up 400% since inauguration

    This place quotes CNN:
A CNN source with very close to the U.S. Secret Service confirmed to me today that threats on the life of the president of the United States have now risen by as much as 400 percent since his inauguration, 400 percent death threats against Barack Obama -- quote -- "in this environment" go far beyond anything the Secret Service has seen with any other president.

i dont believe it , they can feed your mind anything to make the president look strong. now why would there be 400 percent death threats and none had taken place now i find that hard to believe.

at 400 percent thats a pretty high threat level i bet most of them came from international persons.

In light of that, I have to give the White House and Secret Service props for respecting the rights of the Open Carriers of guns at the rallies where the President is.

Yes they shouldn't tread on any rights, but they could have chosen to make an issue of it, and haven't (that I am aware of.)

I wonder how they define 'death threat.'

If some white supremacist organization has a hundred people chanting, 'death to all blacks,' does that count as a hundred death threats against the president?

Even if there is no manipulation of the numbers, I am not surprised that there would be many more threats than usual. There are a number of issues that come together. Of course there is the race issue with him being the first blackish president. There are people who are violently opposed to socialism and/or big government. The emotionally charged views regarding Obama's views on the war in Iraq and religion. When you combine those things with the baseline reasons that people normally make threats against president, it is no surprise that the number is higher.

But 400%? I wonder if that statistic is inflated and/or manipulated.

While I don't doubt that the threats are up, 400% seems high.

To me, this is more about liberals and them painting anyone that does not bow down to the chosen one as crazy, radical extremists.

I'm no more alarmed about what that guy said in his church than I am about what O’s Rev. said at his. They are all spewing a little hatred.

    Typical.

Ranting and raving over and over about one paster spouting hatred about "whitey" for months..

Oh! Look out now, a preacher yelling he hates Obama, and wants him DEAD? Where is the outrage? Lukewarm at best.. Why?

It's because most people only are outraged at hatred they disagree with.
