Our Next Theme Shoot at LRGC.....I need your input.
Friends,
We are considering another theme shoot at LRGC this winter. It will be called Return to Bastone.
We would limit the weapons to those used in WWII i.e.
M1 Garand
M1 Carbine
Springfield 1903
K98
G43
Colt .45
Wather
Luger
Mauser
etc....
You get the picture. We would most likely do it in the late Winter. So would this be something you'd find of interest? Please post to this thread your thoughts.
Thanks,
Gary

I'm a fellow member and though I don't have one of the weapons listed would really enjoy watching the show. I wonder how the much older members, those who fought in WW2, will feel about the idea.

I'm getting final approval on this shoot this week. The response to this idea has been overwhelming. We will be changing the name however and a HUGE number of folks with Mosin Nagant rifles want in! So...... the new name of the shoot will be The Winter of 1944 at LRGC. Look for more details shortly and keep the 27th of February open on your calander.
Regards,
Gary

Gary,
Great idea on this shoot!
Opening it to Mosin shooters should bring a ton more people (myself included)
As my CMP Garand will take some time tio come in and my .308 K98 mauser should be headspaced, I'll mostly likely be blowing fire with my Mosin Nagant.

Good point, they do attend shows and memorials. Personally I see it as a tribute to those who fought. In fact that, IMO, is the best reason to hold the event. Without them the world would be a much darker place. My father was one of them and without a doubt....my hero.

I don't do your shoots, However one shoot we had a lot of fun with was the "lawyer" shoot. Using IPSC or IDPA targets you put a heart symbol over the X ring so to speak. then you put a 3X5 index card painted black, somewhere on the C /D line. Hitting the Heart symbol counts as a miss. Hitting the wallet counts double. After all every one knows lawyers don't have a heart. but they do treasure their money.
