    Default Must Have Handguns...

I really like a variety of handguns. I am not the the type of guy that only buys Glocks or only buys Sigs. I think that each gun has something special to offer and something to enjoy about that firearm. There are different purposes for certain handguns such as concealed carry, carry, plinking, nightstand support, etc. Yes, some guns can do it all and even walk on water but in general guns tend to have different purposes.

When thinking about what would be a must have list of guns that I would like to pass on to my kids someday, this is what I have come up with:

    Colt 1911 .45ACP
    Glock 17 9MM
    Smith 629 44M
    Ruger Mark ll 22 pistol
    Berretta 92
    Sig P220
    compact/carry wheel gun
    Compact/carry auto
    357 wheel gun

    What would your list be?

    I would say add a Sig 226/ 229 in either 40s&w or 9mm
    Glock 19

I my list is very close to yours but I am not sure It would have to be a Colt 1911 but rather any nice well keep 1911

I would have a Sig 226 instead of the Sig 220

the Compact carry wheel gun would most likely be a S&W 357

The Compact carry auto maybe a Walther PPK

and the only real addition to your list is a cowboy gun, Single Action Revolver maybe a Single Action Army in .357 or 38 so they do not have to worry about finding .45 Long Colt.

    Glock 22, 23, 35
    Glock 17, 19, 34
Springfield 1911 or some type of high quality 1911
Good 357 and 44 mag wheelguns
and a 45 ACP wheelgun so i can start shooting USPSA/IDPA revolver.

    Dream list right there.

I am interested in having most guns in my collection. I really would like one of each of the snake guns by Colt, already have an Anaconda.. A luger would be nice. A few full autos would be great.

But all in all any is good.

I have the Colt, I have the Sig/Sigs.
All I'm really missing is the wheel guns, though I do have a Ruger SRH that I'm borrowing now.

But to be on topic must have pistols are

    A Hi-cap semi
    A quality 1911 in .45
    A .357 or .44 wheel
    A S/C carry piece
    A .22

To pass along to my kids??

    MUST HAVE
1911A1, one for each one of them
    S&W Sigma in 9mm or Glock 19
    S&W 19's for each
a 22LR rifle of some sort.

    optional
    S&W Sigma in 40S&W
small pocket autos, KelTec P-11 (and 380's, 32's, 25's) by the bucketfull
.22LR (haven't figured out what kind yet but Weber's suggested Ruger Mk II is prob best.) Prob not revolvers.

They each ought to have a shotgun of some sort, too.

A 44MAG might be too much, however.

Now where in the heck will I find all the money for that equipment? I've got FOUR kids!

    sksmith had a good idea:
Ladysmith (for the Lady) .38/.357 Mag
    Colt Mustang .380 Auto

    Both excellent choices.
