When you give him the bill, tell him it is so much because you had to order special tools, Dodge cars use different tools than Lincoln/Mercury. That will teach him.

What needed to be repaired? I assume the Dodge is out of warranty?

Maybe the local Dodge dealer closed down and he has nowhere else to take it...though I'm sure some garage wouldn't mind working on it.

Doesn't make much sense, but it's not unheard of.
