holster clips
So i get this new IWB holster...and this is the clip it came with:
Anybody else have one of these? Very difficult to put on...even with my "smaller" hands, its really hard to pull the clip open to slip of waistband.
Once its on, it stays in place really well...as the "J" catches the seam of the waistband...but still...too tough to put on. Am i missing something?
This is the one on my old holster....so i switched them.

Re: holster clips
Guess my issue is why is the new clip so hard to work? Is it actually a "belt loop"?...

Re: holster clips
i didnt see it, but i think the "j" part youre speaking of is actually the part thats supposed to go through the holster, and the part with the tab is supposed to clip over your belt. if it was the other way around perhaps they inserted it in backwards on production. it happens!

Re: holster clips
I dunno about that. If I understand this correctly, with the holster mounted on your belt, the clip supports its weight. When you draw, the 'J' part of the hook holds the underside edge of your belt, prevent the holster from coming along with the firearm.

Re: holster clips
I have a desantis holster that has that "J" clip.
It can be a pain to take the holster off like the OP said, because it catches the the seam of the pants.

Re: holster clips
It almost looks like that is an OWB clip???
I think it might still work correctly if you fold over the end of the 'J' to simply make it an 'L'.... this will still press the fabric of the pants tightly against holster clip and help keep the holster in place when you draw the pistol.... while lessening the tendency to catch on the pants seam...
Just a suggestion....

Re: holster clips
Now that image makes a lot of sense....seems that Chemical might have been right and the clip was inserted backwards at the factory. The way it came, i was sticking the lowest point...where the image says "Pants & Belt"... inside the pants and then trying to feed the pant up and thru the space next to the "ls" of the word holster with nothing to pull the J out. Turning it around would allow me to pull the lowest point out...
Gonna try that now...
Nice...much better that way...and it still holds onto the pant better than the old style.
I figured i was just doing something wrong...Thanks
