    Default AR mags suck

Seriously. Yeah, okay, I know some STANAG mags are better than others. The Colt mags have worked out for me okay, but I've had Bushmaster and all kinds of other mags responsible for plenty of misfeeds. Dinky, unreliable aluminum shits-- oh, they're light, drop straight out, go straight in and are interchangeable with other NATO weapons-- big fuckin deal, gimme a steel AK mag any fuckin day of the week. Yeah, they're heavy, too long, take more time to change, but no matter what kind I get I don't have to worry about any misfeeds. Fuck AR mags. [/rant]

hate to break this to you, but an AK mag won't work in your AR.

(seriously, though...maybe try some p-mags? people rave about them. i've never used 'em personally, though, as c-products and D&H USGI AR mags have, with one exception, always worked just fine for me.)

Polymer mags? The primary weapon used by the world's leading military force should have standard mags that work just fine-- I shouldn't have to hunt down special mags to avoid misfeeds. Then again, you'd think the primary weapon used by the world's leading military force shouldn't be using a direct impingement gas system that causes unnecessary fouling and reduces the service life of the weapon either, but go fuckin figure. Sorry, still in rant mode, obviously.

If you have a chance, check out an H&K mag for the AR. It is the sweetest AR mag I have ever owned. It is built like everything H&K makes. They are $50 or so apiece but IMO worth every cent.

I have used and own them ALL. Pmags are the greatest thing since slice bread... They just fnn WORK! You can buy them for 12-15 bucks and you will never look back. Hk mags are nice mags but not worth what you pay and I actually think Pmags are better. The design from top to bottom is exceptional.

They are like Bulgarian waffle AK mags and maybe even better...

I think H&K mags are the absolute best, but ive also had great success with PMags and Brownells.
