Stupid people

So the wife and I went to the flea market as usual. We go to take our dogs "two Saints and a Rotti". We go more as a training exercise and for the socialization. People stop us all of the time to take pictures or tell us how well trained our dogs are. We have back packs for each of them. If we should pick something up that fits into the packs we use them.

I stop at one stand to talk to a man that we go to dog school with. I feel a tug at my arm. Here is a woman trying to get my attention. She goes into a tirad about how we shouldn't be using the packs and how I should be carrying the stuff we buy.

I just shook my head at her and walked away.

How would you have handled this.

They are your dogs, you know what they are capable of handling, I would have thanked her for her concern but told my dogs are just fine and walked away.

I would have told her "what would you rather me do, put a pack on my dog or walk a donkey around".....lol

Basically the pack are used to carry cds or paperbacks. Some people would have the dog carry water on long walks. These type of dogs are working class dogs. This means they were purpose bred to do work.

The cart thing is a whole other subject. Saints are also used in pulling competitions. A full grown Saint can pull tons. That is said with out exaggeration. Both the breeds are used to pull drafting carts. I do hook the up to a pulling cart once in a while for exercise.

I am thinking she is a PETA wanna be.

I would have indicated that your breed of dog was specifly bread for carrying objects and sometimes people. So a small object that would fit in to the back packs wouldn't cause an issue. Then thanked her and went on about your day.

I would have just told her to mind her own business. I hate people that feel the need to tell you their opinion. My opinion of most people is that they are assholes, but I don't stop and tell every one of them that they are an asshole. It's just common courtesy to keep your opinion to yourself.

You should have told her she can carry it if she's so fucking concerned.
