Default "That has to be covered up"

So im at work today and I was ringing up the stuff this lady bought, and another gentleman is waiting for me to get done so I can sell him some lottery tickets.

When the woman leaves the store the guy leans over the counter and kinda whispers to me " Please tell me that you know your pistol has to be concealed. "

ME : " No sir it doesnt, OC is legal in this state "

    Guy : " Well I carry a Glock 27 and I have to keep it concealed "

Me : " Well its up to you if you want to conceal it or not, as long as you
    have a LTCF "

    Guy : " Yea a licence to CONCEAL a firearm. "

    Me : " No its a licence to CARRY a firearm. "

Guy : " So you mean to tell me that I can carry it out in the open for
everybody and their brother to see? "

Me : " If you want to put it that way then yes, but you need to have a
LTCF if you carry it loaded in your car. "

Guy : " I think your wrong about that, But im gona look into it. "

I have been meaning to get some handouts printed up just for this reason.

I ask the guy to come back and let me know what he found out. I told him about this web site but he said he didnt have access to a computer.

oh and BTW, if anyone was wondering I was OCing a S&W cs45 with a stainless finish, in a black gould & goodrich open top 2-slot holster. I had on a red shirt so i guess it had pretty good contrast.

Print up some flyers and keep them behind the counter for when he comes back in.

where's PAPatriot when you need him... he should have sensed the disturbance in the force and walked in with some flyers to save the day.

On the serious side though, i find i never think i'll need a flyer when i go out and thats the time i do. Thats why i started keeping a bunch of copies in the truck when i go out or to work.

Off topic here a bit, but I'm assuming you own this store or the owner permits you to carry?

Good on the man for not assuming he's right, without clear citation of law. Maybe our quest to educate isn't a lost cause..

No I dont own the store, but the owner does let me carry, on the afternoon shift there is only one person there. He said he was going to bring in a baseball bat to put behind the counter. I suggested that I carry while at work and that I had a LTCF. He said he didnt have a problem with it. I use to CC but I just bought this belt rig yesterday at Laurel Ridge in Chalk hill. I love it.He seen me OCing yesterday and didnt have a problem with it so im good to go.

You're a lucky man to work for someone like that.

That's pretty amazing that he allows you to carry at all.
