Truck guns
I got to thinking bout the sks I keep in my truck from this thread. I threw it in my old truck a few years ago because it was a cheap rifle to let bang around in the truck. The sks's aren't that cheap anymore and it's now the only one I have. Perhaps a shotty would be a better truck gun. One of those side saddle shell holders and a box of mixed buck/bird. Anyone else have a truck gun or am I the lone wackjob with a longarm? What do you use and how do you secure it? I have the sks strapped to the back of the seat with a tiedown.

Re: Truck guns
SKS isnt the best choice as they can have floating fireing pins...
instead of a truck gun i have a jeep revolver... problem is i work on a fed instalation and it only goes with me when i dont have to work that day...
i want to get a serbu super shorty or other SBS and keep it in the jeep, but then i might as well get a judge... lolThis Space For Rent

Re: Truck guns
i'd suggest a gun with a detachable magazine for a long gun "truck gun" personally. you can load it much quicker.
i don't keep a long gun in my truck, though. i just always have my glock on me. i don't like the idea of leaving guns in vehicles personally. if someone steals my vehicle, i don't want to give them a gun as a bonus.F*S=k

A 12G Serbu = Judge like a Dodge Ram = Subaru Brat
Just sayin.
I was keeping a single shot 12G with a nylon cuff full of 00buck in my truck for a while. I took it out to clean it up and havn't put it back yet.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

Re: Truck guns
In PA having a shotgun with rounds in a side saddle shell holster would mean it a loaded shotgun under the law. Bad ju-ju. Now if you want to pony up for an SBR or a short barreled shotgun ( under 18") you would be good to go. This assumes you have a LTCF. Without a LTCF your SOL.

Re: Truck guns
NOPE, read it again. You are confusing what loaded means for a handgun.

Re: Truck guns
As far as I know, if the rifle is in a soft-sided case, and the mags are in an outside pocket of that case, they are in seperate compartments within the vehicle.
