I was telecommuting today, sitting on my sofa, minding my companies business ... when I saw a quite good looking chick stepping onto my front porch. Some bag over the shoulder and papers/binder in hand.

Me thinks: "Mormons never come alone, so what's this now?"

She pushes the button ... but there is no door bell connected to that one, so while I size her up through the window, her eyes are glued to the door. Waiting. Awkward silence.

She doesn't seem too numb, because she figures that this didn't work and instead of pushing that button again, she knocks on the door.

Curiosity kills the cat, so I go and open the door.

EEK ... that blue T-shirt she's wearing has the letters A, C, L and U in a rather offensive manner plastered over her otherwise quite aesthetic looking front.

She: "I am with the American Civil ... blah ... conservatives and right wing extremists ... bleh ... force their opinion onto ... blah blah ... proposition 8 ... gays ... yadda ..."

Me: "Thanks"

She: "... - you're welcome You know ... blah ... civil rights ... "

Me: "No, I mean thanks, but no thanks. I personally have my money on the second amendment. What was that about right wing extremists?"

She: " uh ... er ... well ... have a good day Sir."

And off she went to pester a neighbor.

If only I had my camera in hand. That look on her face was just priceless

You're not an extremist as long as someone is further right than you are.

It's like the cleanup hitter in baseball, someone has to be that strong anchor. Around here, there are plenty of players willing to be that reference point. Although from my perspective, quite frankly, a lot of you lean to the left. But then, from my perspective, almost everyone does.

It's like the cleanup hitter in baseball, someone has to be that strong anchor. Around here, there are plenty of players willing to be that reference point. Although from my perspective, quite frankly, a lot of you lean to the left. But then, from my perspective, almost everyone does.

From my perspective everyone is short (I'm well over 6ft tall)

We had PETA knock on our door one time. We got a head's up from a neighbor so when they knocked, I answered with a big slab of elk meat in my hand. The guy almost threw up when he saw it. Lol.

I had another run in with the PETA folks when I worked at Wegmans. They were slipping their flyers in random places all over the store. A woman came through my line and handed me one. I got all excited saying I was a member.

Her eyes lit up when I started but when I pointed to the People for Ethical Treament of Animals part and said they got it wrong, she looked confused. I think she thought there was a spelling error until I told her that PETA was supposed to mean People for Eating of Tastey Animals.

From excitement to disgust in less than 4 seconds. It was priceless.

On a similar topic to the OP. I was at a car show in Scottsdale Arizona before I moved here the first time. The first new Mini Cooper in the country was there. The girl driving it was wearing a shirt that said Mini across her rather ample chest. I found it ironic that the word Mini was stretched across such a not so mini chest. (That's kind on topic right? He mentioned ACLU across her otherwise attractive front )

I am married, and quite happily so (this second time).

Then again. I should have played along anyway. Not to hit on her, but to play the poor, defenseless gun owner that needs the help and protection of the ACLU against this rouge, evil anti-2A government.

If I would have noticed that ACLU on her T-Shirt before opening the door, I may have had a better plan. I just didn't know what I was walking into until she opened her mouth and unloaded that canned word flood on me.
