Default Max # of Rounds Recommended at the Range

Hey everyone, I just have a quick question. I didn't think about this before I recently went to the range for the first time with my G19, but, is there a maximum number of rounds recommended for a first time range trip (first time for the gun...not me)? In other words, for a new handgun, should I limit the number of rounds I put through it the first few times at the range to "break it in?" What about when the gun is no longer "new?" When I went recently, I put about 215 rounds through it...too much?

I personally would not fire more than 500 at one time with out a cleaning and lube.

    But thats me.

And if your going to push a gun to the brink like shooting a bunch of ammo without a cleaning, a Glock is what you want.

I'm in the clean it, then shoot it until sunset camp.

There are things that limit the number of rounds:
    1. How far you have to carry them and your means of transport.
    2. The number of rounds you can fire before getting tired and you start practicing bad habits.
    3. Budget

Alright, cool! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing damage without knowing it. Thanks everyone!

I find that 250 is my limit before I get tired of shooting.

I'd feel confident with the gun after 200 rds.
