ChesCo Parks Ban Firearms...
Good afternoon.
Someone brought to my attention that the ChesCo Parks Department bans firearms on county park property. See section 31 A in the attached rules and regulations for Chester County parks.
ChesCo Rules & Regs.pdf
Okay, since I'm already knee deep into a fight with MontCo, I figured I'll add ChesCo to the mix. So, here's a copy of my e-mail to John P. Mikowychok, Director of Chester County Parks & Recreation.

Subject: ChesCo Parks Rules & Regulations
Good afternoon, John.
I am writing to advise you that the Chester County Rules and Regulations posted on your web-site (and attached to this e-mail) includes a ban (section 31 A) on lawful possession of firearms by law-abiding citizens that is in violation of the Commonwealth’s Uniform Firearms Act preemption law (Title 18 Chapter 61 Subchapter A § 6120). The specific law reads:
(a) General rule. No county, municipality, or township may in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer, or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition components when carried or transported for purposes not prohibited by the laws of this Commonwealth.
Since your rule number 31 A is unlawful, I would like to know who should be contacted to seek removal of this unlawful rule so law-abiding citizens are not mislead about their legal right to lawfully carry firearms for self-defense when utilizing ChesCo parks.
Thank you,
Lisa A. Compton

Also, nice letters too. Professional and to-the-point.
I hope you receive this in the good humor with which it is intended. Hi, I'm Curmudgeon, resident jester, and all around smart-ass.

.While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Good evening, Curmudgeon.
It's nice to make your acquaintance. I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only smartass on the forum. I'm still sizing up individual temperaments before I let off too much sarcasm on any one individual.
Don't worry about me, I enjoy goofing on people and I expect it in return. There is no thin skin here!
I appreciate the support, too.
Keep your powder dry!

Welcome! Thank you so much for taking up these battles with us.
I'm not suggesting in any way that you need assistance tackling these issues, but if you want to read about some of the ways we've addressed issues like this in the past, check out this thread:

Good evening, gnbrotz.
I appreciate the warm welcome!
As for help, don't be silly! I can use all of the help I can get. I had previously read that thread to which you linked, which is what gave me the idea about going after local violators of the preemption law. I didn't feel like waiting for open meetings to start irritating people so I thought I would fire off a few e-mails to stir the pot.
