Barack Obama to opposition - STFU
Source, via Drudge - http://www.roanoke.com/politics/wb/214499
Obama also did some campaigning for himself, defending his administration's efforts to fix the economy and blistering Republican critics, who he blamed for creating the crisis he inherited.
"I expect to be held responsible," Obama said. "But I don't want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking. I want them to get out of the way so we can clean up the mess. I don't mind cleaning up after them, but don't do a lot of talking."
Another gem:
Obama accused his GOP critics of having "selective memory" about the economy and said, "When I walked in we had a $1.3 trillion deficit. That was gift-wrapped and waiting for me when I walked into the Oval Office."
And BHO did actually vote for the TARP bill that resulted in the aforementioned $450B deficit.
Guy's got some stones.

Re: Barack Obama to opposition - STFU
We get it.
So after 8 years of Bush, and 6 years of GOP rule, it is not a single shred of their fault for the mess we're in.
Free pass noted.

The parties are part of the problem. Each blames the other.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Meanwhile spending continues to increase. Government power continues to increase. Liberty continues to decrease.
No matter who is doing it, there remain some truths.
1) you can't borrow yourself out of bankruptcy
2) Printing money doesn't create wealth nor productivity
3) Productivity not based on real demand has little true value to the economy because it results in misallocations of resources. Think bridges to nowhere.
Now - when I say market forces, I do not mean big corporations that buy the government to give them contracts. That is not a free market, that is a plutocracy.
Government has shown it is terrible at doing things, and yet demands ever more authority, control, power and resources to do more things.

Re: Barack Obama to opposition - STFU
Likewise, your cognitive dissonance has been noted.
Just to make things a little clearer for the stupid, the Bush Administration is partially at fault for this, as is the GOP in general. They were the ones who insisted that TARP was good for the nation, when they failed to put the brakes on the programs that caused the whole credit catastrophe. TARP was ultimately approved by a number of GOP house and senate members, who could have stopped it dead in its tracks. So if they're getting the shit kicked out of them now, well, they had it coming.
As long as we're assessing blame, BHO and his DNC allies in Congress are also partly responsible for the $450 billion, because they voted in favor of TARP AND the war in Iraq, and other of the Bush Admin's stupid ideas (prescription drugs; No Child Left Behind). Democrats were firmly in control of both houses of Congress and all federal appropriations for the last two years of the Bush Administration. They could have stopped the gravy train, but they chose not to - because the sad truth is that they're more prone to treating the federal treasury like their own personal piggy bank than the GOP is.
Given how the additional $9 Billion came after BHO took office, BHO and his cronies are ENTIRELY responsible for the rest. In other words, BHO is lying through his teeth about the blame. It takes some stones to shift all of the blame to his predecessor, when he's responsible for the majority of it.
You go right ahead and call me a Bush Kool-Aid drinker, though, if it makes you feel any better. Anything's better than admitting you fucked up in voting for the single most unqualified President in history.

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Which is exactly why Obama is telling them to STFU. That's the thing with new administrations...they tend to do things THEIR way. Hardly a democratic trait.

Didn't think so.
Better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
