    Default Preemption

In doing some PA county research...i found that it seems Chester is not familiar with exemption...

Please keep in mind that there are some areas where it is prohibited to carry a firearm: schools, courts (both county and district), and county properties (parks, and anywhere it may be posted).
Sorry if this may have already been covered here.

    Q. I have some firearms that were given to me by a parent/relative, do I have to register them in my name?
    A. No. Pennsylvania does not require firearms to be registered.
They're correct about not registering, but from relatives other than a parent, grandparent, or spouse, the transfer still has to be done through an FFL.

Most of the other info on the page was accurate though

As we've seen many times before, many local governments are just unaware of the law regarding the pre-emption statute

This particular one is not unaware. I sent a letter to Sheriff Welsh regarding this information as published on her website some months ago. I got no response and due to major home reconstruction I haven't followed up yet. But they do know about it.
