Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
Nobody in my family 'owned' any of the guns except my father and we all shot all of them. I have Savage pump, octagonal barreled .22 and a French 7.65 Unique semi-automatic pistol that we used to shoot. Plus the Winchester model 12's in 16 and 12 Ga.

Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
The first gun i ever bought myself was a Ruger 10/22 carbine. I sold that gun long, long ago, but I have since bought, and still own, an identical 10/22, so Im not sure if that means I still have the same gun or not.

A Western Field bolt action .22 (made by Mossberg) bought from the Monkey Wards catalog in 1963. It still shoots good and some parts are still available. I refinished the nicely grained walnut stock a year or two ago.

Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
The first I ever bought was a P14 from Springfield Sporters back in the mid 80*s. Shot like crap. Even my Dad (Korean War U S Marine) couldn*t hit anything with it. Sat in the safe for years. Took it out a few years back and shot it at 25 yards. Bullets we*re going in sideways. That was about the time Criterion came out with their M1917 and P14 barrels. Had ChuckInDenver from the Milsurps forum install the new barrel and the thing is a laser! Wish my Dad was still around to shoot it now.

Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
I still have the Glenfield bolt-action .22 that I got for Christmas when I was 12.
The first gun that I bought was a Beretta 21A, and the second was a Ruger SR9C. I traded them both in years ago.

Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
In 1992 I bought a mossberg 500. I still hunt with it, got a couple doves with it this fall.
The only gun I've ever gotten rid of was a stainless s&w model 60 snub nose, I traded it for an air weight 38 snub nose.

Re: Your first gun and do you still have it?
First purchase ever was a parkerized Remington 870P with 20" bbl, fixed improved cyl choke and rifle sights. It shoots Remington Sluggers as if it was designed to (it was) and has killed a whole bunch of deer in the SE Special Regs Area.
It was stolen at one point, had to sue the Phila. Police to get it back. Spent way more on the lawyer than the gun(s) were worth.
Definitely not one I will ever part with. While it was "missing" I replaced it with the same gun, this time with a blued finish. Eventually the blued version got a receiver mounted scope. I'll be keeping that one too.

Marlin single shot 22 bolt action. From my Dad ~54 years ago for my brother and me. I remember picking out the Weaver 4x scope. Lots of squirrel hunting with that. Still have it.
