Most of the worlds FALs are Metric, and not all parts are compatible with the L1A1.

    FALfiles forums
    Arizona Response Systems
    DSA Arms
Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

that pretty much sums it up. there is a FAL sub forum on ARFCOM as well but i'd stick to the FALFILES

need pics, so we can help you trick...

if you plan to shoot open sights, I would suggest a "para" rear sight, it makes the rear sight operate like the one on a M16A2. if you want optics, I would recommend (but have no experience with) a DSA-made picatinny rail top cover. SAW Grips and a T48 handguard are great additions, also, but a T48 handguard may reqire you replace the gas tube, if yours doesn't cover the piston the full distance between the adjustment cylinder and the receiver.

(shameless plug) I also have a TriLUX for sale...

If I were in the market for another FAL, this is the one I would buy.

Ya know, one thing that I could never quite fathom; why did they use HEAT-TRANSFERABLE STEEL HANDGUARDS on their Stg58's? Did they issue all their troops oven mitts or something?
You put 3 quick mags thru a FAL and you do NOT want to be touching that barrel...

i think the forearm on the DSA FALS is molded plastic and not aluminum like the originals. i purchased my stg58 two years ago and if i remember correctly the forearm is plastic.
