Truck Window Racks?
Whats the deal with them? I'm not even sure where to begin looking into the laws of these...

Re: Truck Window Racks?
The deal is that as long as the long arms are unloaded, it's absolutely legal.

Re: Truck Window Racks?
As mentioned, the law is silent on "window racks".
Long guns must be unloaded while in the vehicle (18Pa.C.S.6106.1) per the definition of "loaded" in 18Pa.C.6102
"Loaded." A firearm is loaded if the firing chamber, the nondetachable magazine or, in the case of a revolver, any of the chambers of the cylinder contain ammunition capable of being fired. In the case of a firearm which utilizes a detachable magazine, the term shall mean a magazine suitable for use in said firearm which magazine contains such ammunition and has been inserted in the firearm or is in the same container or, where the container has multiple compartments, the same compartment thereof as the firearm._________________________________________

Re: Truck Window Racks?
thanks fellas I appreciate the help.
Never said I was going to store them in my truck lol. just during transportation to the range , hunting etc. in a std cab there's not always a lot of room and the last thing i'd do throw is them in the bed...Last edited by BrentJennings; July 25th, 2009 at 10:48 PM. Re: Truck Window Racks?
We all used to have them filled in high school. Granted...that was back in the 80s. Never had a problem. Hell, half the time teachers would come out to see what we had and ask if they could go hunting with us.
