    Default Newe member: new toys!

    Howdy everyone.

I'm a new member here so I thought I'd share a couple of my newest toys.

Here's a Kimber CDP Pro II I bought for my 21st birthday a few months ago. It came complete with a PA LTCF :

And here's my newly completed AR15 build. Well, partial build I guess. I built the lower from a stripped receiver (which I had transfered by Todd at GunRunners - thanks Todd ). I bought the upper completed. Next on my list is some sort of RedDot sight, probably an AimPoint, EOTech, or Trijicon ACOG (if I can save up enough!).

Thumbs up Re: Newe member: new toys!

    They look fantastic!

The CDP is one of my favorite pistols (if only mine would come back from the smith) What kind of uppper did you use for your build?

    Hey 1911ShooterTJ,

Great pics! I was just at "French Creek" looking at their Kimber line, and I'm still deciding if I want to get one. I really like the one you have, it's real nice indeed!

    Take care,

    Rand

They're beautiful! I'm deciding on a kimber way in the future for a range gun, probably a pretty lil 45er. AR is very nice as well.

Emptymag Glad you like em And thanks for the shooting invite. I will let you know if I am able to make it within the next couple of days. If I can make it, both are at your disposal!

jdlv4_0: Thanks! Sorry to hear your CDP is at the Smith. What happened to it!? The upper is a Stag Arms 2HT, but I swapped out the A.R.M.S. #40L for the carry handle. I just like the look of the carry handle for iron sights. Once I finally get a red-dot, I'll prob swap back to the #40L for cowitnessing.

GUNRUNNERS OF PA: I'm glad you like the AR! Although you a probably a bit biased don't you think.

rand & jsb889: Thanks! I splurged on the Kimber as a 21st birthday gift to self. What better to buy for turning legal for a handgun! Like I told Emptymag above, if you're still undecided and are going to the PFOA shoot on Sunday, and if I am able to make it, feel free to try em too!

So how about some details on the AR?

What lower did you use? What kind of lower parts kit? Standard or NM trigger?

I just built a service rifle myself. It's a real Frankenstein's monster. I just broke the barrel in and I'm hoping it shoots well. It's got a Wilson barrel but I have no idea who made the upper. I built the lower using a Stag with a RRA lower parts kit with a NM trigger. It's got a Colt bolt and carrier and an Armalite stock, buffer, tube and spring.

The lower is Stag Arms as is the LPK. Standard trigger. The stock is also a 6 pos. Stag Arms stock. Actually the short answer is that it's ALL stag arms for now Boring I know, but it was my first AR build (semi-build?), so I kept to Stag parts.

The worst thing is, I haven't even got a chance to shoot it yet! I have been busy with work, as well as other things, so it has been sitting there taunting me
