A few class 3/nfa questions.
First of all is there any class 3 dealers around the pittsburgh area? I'm not really looking to get into automatic weapons or anything like that(just yet). I would like to start out with a suppressor for my bushmaster carbon 15 type 97S, I can get a 1/2 - 28 threaded adapter, and that seems to be the most common size. Are there certain things i should look for when shopping for a suppressor? I'd like to find a local place to buy from, but obviously I atleast need to find a dealer to go threw if i go the online route.

I'm pretty sure Jay has a list of c3 dealers in PA. Dan might as well.
How is that carbon 15 running for you? They have had some serious issues with those Carbon 15s. My friend bought one even after I told him not to...3 trips back to BushMaster and he finally understood what I was trying to tell him.

Re: A few class 3/nfa questions.
alot, ALOT of people have had issues, I never have had a problem(goes and knocks on wood) i've got atleast 3K rounds threw it. I love it, and I'd depend on it.
it is picky about the ammo, it would not shoot wolf or remington soft tips.. but the federal hollow points i get for 60 for 250 shoot perfect, and i've got about 600 .69grain federal left which it likes to shoot(gets hotter then hell though)

Re: A few class 3/nfa questions.
I actually got that gun "for" my g/f because she was starting to get into shooting more and my old bushmaster M4 was a bit heavy for her, and i ended up selling the M4 just because i didnt really have a need for it

I am also interested in Class III/NFA. I don't really know the difference but I'd like to get a suppressor and I'll probably have to incorporate. I don't really know what this entails either.
JayBell's post is helpful about the steps JayBell's other post spells things out pretty clearly on who gives you the forms, etc.
Any suggestions on how to incorporate?

It might be easier to incorp in large cities. You should contact your County Sheriff and find out if he/she will sign off on the form 4. Then make your decision.

i'm hoping Arms and Ordnance in warrendale is still open, thats only about 15min from my house, and even less than that to northside sportsmans.. I called them today though and there was no answer.

Re: A few class 3/nfa questions.
Charlie Logan of A&A is a great guy, and a great dealer, you'll like him...I don't know what he keeps in stock, and he keeps odd hours.
Check his web page, and send him an email... I THINK its mg42@crai.net or close.
as for adding a threaded adapter, its a bad idea for a suppressor, but OK for a flashhider.
the threaded adapter is not concentric to the bore, and is a little loose.it's almost a guarantee to give you a baffle strike, thus destroying your brand new can."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Re: A few class 3/nfa questions.
Are there a lot of class III dealers in PA? Seems like class III dealers are dropping like flyes.
