I hope this helps you a little.
I don't own know to much about the two .38 Supers that you asked about but know a little the round and other manufacturers of the .38 Super.
I own/shoot/and sometimes carry a .38 Super Colt Lightweight Commander (Manufacture in 1954) or a Detonic Combat Master in .38 Super. They both are very reliable pistols and well made. The .38 Super with developed to get law enforcement more penetration (for motorized vehicles) back in the hayday of Bonnie and Clyde as the old .38 Special didn't cut the mustard. It's a good round even by today's standards.
I think enough of this round to have just ordered a .38 Super from S&W's Performance Center.
Hope this helps

Taurus Model 85
Hello. I have a Taurus Model 85 .38 Special. It is good although it doesn't shoot +P. It's a lot more accurate than I am. I found out when I purchased the CTC laser grip, wow. Now it hits in the black all 5 shots at 35 yards offhand. It's accurate. 2" barrell stainless. It's never had any failure at any time. i would trust my life with it. Does this help?
