    Default Savage Steven’s 200

, I am looking at the new savage Steven’s 200 in 308 with the camo stock. The price seems to be good at $329.00. I stayed away from the Stevens because of that cheap looking charcoal gray stock but the new camo looks pretty good, but I have heard some problems with a stiff trigger pull any comments

I would imagine the camo stock is exactly the same as the gray stock, just painted.
Stevens isn't supposed to be a pretty gun. It's a functional gun.

The trigger pull is stiff but can be modified. With a new spring it's not bad at all.

If you end up getting the gun, let me know and I'll be glad to send you a piece of spring wire to replace the trigger spring.

Thanks I went ahead and ordered the rifle, Bees said it would be in on the 30th of July, he called Grice and they have it in stock, I ordered the Dies from mid-south. So I get some rounds loaded up and get the rifle. I will see how the trigger pull is, I ask the guy at Bees. he said he just backed the Allen screw out on the spring on his, and went from almost 9 pound, down to 3.5pounds on his RCBS pull gauge. have you heard of doing this,

I'd be cautious of this. If you just back off the screw on the stock spring, you may not have enough pressure to prevent slam fires or accidental discharges. I seriously doubt you can get 3.5lbs with the stock spring and maintain sear engagement.

You are probly right, I will check the gun out when I get it. If the trigger is stiff I will just take it into a gunsmith, from the link you sent, it looks like an easy fix for them, ( if there is a problem.) I had a rifle some years back that had a bad sear and went off when I took the safty off, I am getting too old for that kind of excitment, thanks again for the info
