Default I thanked some Veterans today ....

.... in particular a WW2 vet in a wheelchair with no legs. I shook his hand and thanked him for his sacrifice and service for our country, it choked me up and I nearly shed a tear. He was one of many Vets happy to see us roll into town in support of our troops.

Today, a few hundred motorcyclists and a car club met in Delaware County, Pa and rode together to honor all vets, past and present, and to counter-protest a bunch of folks who see fit on most Saturdays to protest against the war, America and our veterans in West Chester, Chester County, Pa.

My local paper had a pre-run story this week, you can read it HERE the story leaves out the anti-war/anti-troops protesters, you can read that story HERE.

It really saddens me to see people hate the very people that give them the freedom to hold such a protest.

On the other hand it made me very happy to see all the folks who support our men & women in the armed forces, regardless of how they may feel about war. Today, we outnumbered them 50 to 1.

I am not a veteran, it wasn't until I was too old to serve that I learned to appreciate the freedoms I have and enjoy, as a result I participate whenever I can to give support and thanks to those who've served, I can only hope that those who serve today aren't doing so in vain as more and more of our freedoms are being eroded away.

Oh yea, I finally met forum member Rady8um with whom I've only chatted with here on the forum, until today, pleasure to meet you.

Thank You Veterans, past, present & future.

    Bill

Good on you for doing so! I'd rep, but the rep button is currently in physical therapy for over-use. As soon as it gets out, I'll convince it to pay you a visit!

It was a great day with perfect weather. The show of support for our troops and veterans was overwhelming. I, too, thanked a disabled vet who whispered in my ear that he'd do it all over again.

Trouble is most people don't appreciate something until it's gone/too late.

I wonder if those people who protest against the troops and our country would do so in a not so free country. Freedom isn't free. It's paid for by the very men & women they protest against.

    Well done Bill!
Will you be do doing more of these runs in the future? I don't ride a bike, but I have an old Buick that could use a day out for a good cause.
