AR 15
I am looking to purchase a AR and with the ever increasing number of manufacturers making them its hard to tell which one to go with. Due to my finances , I have ruled out anything but 5.56/223. I am looking for a 16 inch barrel for self defense and mid range shoting 100-300 meters. I will also mount some form of optics so will need a flat top reciver. Can anyone recommend a manufacture. I was looking at Bushmaster or Rock River Arms. I already have a post ban Colt but was told they could increase in value so do not shoot it regulary. Thanks for any input.

Re: AR 15
Shoot the Colt. It isn't going to appreciate more than the cost of a second rifle.
That said, RRA makes a nice rifle, but if I were buying today, I'd look at Stag Arms

Re: AR 15
The only model I have any experience with is my Bushy M4gery. I've had it for three years and have never had a single problem with it. I'd buy another Bushy if I needed another AR-15. It shoots XM193 and Radway green with no problems.

Re: AR 15
Hi, My name is Dave and I too am a Colt Snob.
But if "Due to my finances" means no Colt for you now I would look closely at aubie515's and buy a Stag. I have a few of their lowers and one upper and can recommend them without hesitation. To be honest, for shooting one weekend a month in the summer any should serve you well.
Check out the EE on AR15.com for the best prices or post a WTB ad here to see what our fellow members can do for you.
Good luck and welcome aboard!

I hate colts but the one thing they did build right was their AR15 shoot it and be happy. but if you want another go with the RRA or Bushmaster. IMHO.

Re: AR 15
Just build a Del Ton for $560.
Confused yet?
