Default Loadbooks USA - what's in these books?

I've read about these books but have not had the chance to look into one. I've read that they don't have as recent info as other load books. I know I need to also get some real load books, and I will. But, trying to figure out if this little book will even help me. Does the 38 special book, for instance, have loads for Trail Boss powder?

They are compilations of load data from bullet and powder manufacturers. Yes, you still need to get some regular reloading books. But, I find that for the small cost of these little books they are well worth it. I like to compare load data from as many sources as possible and these little books contain a lot of information in one spot.

I imagine if you get the latest version out, you would be getting the most up to date info available as the bullet and powder companies would want to make sure their latest stuff is in there.

As far as I know, there aren't any "new" ones, they are all c. 2004 or earlier. Definitely will not have Trail Boss powder. They are still useful, but not for up-to-date components.

Just looked at my 38 special booklet. 2004 copyright. bought within the last year or so.

    no Trailboss listing

you should be able to get load data for it from the manufacturer's booklet, most put out one for their products or their web site

they are worth the $7 as a reference. Still buy a good and up to date reloading manual.
