Default Saving Private Ryan DVD cover

Anybody else notice that on the 2 disc special edition of Saving Private Ryan, it looks like an ammo crate? Anybody else notice that the markings on that "ammo crate" are in metric?

Correct me if I'm wrong (it has been known to happen) but didn't the US label the 30-'06 as Cartridge, Caliber .30, M2?

It's kinda silly but an inaccuracy like that tends to annoy me. There were some other things like that I noticed when I worked at Blockbuster. Like the Blackhawk on the Rescue Dawn DVD case and the C-130 on the front cover of a WW2 scifi movie.

I guess I'm OCD with stuff like that.

Tell me about it. Some of my friends and my fiance are always telling me to shut up during movies, TV etc. because I'm always picking things like that apart. It just means that we're smart and have good observation skills. Feel good that you know more than the "consultants" who get hired to tell these people what's accurate and whats not.

i'm constantly telling my girlfriend, "he should have been out of ammo 4 rounds ago" or "if that head shot really came from a .300 win mag he would have no head left at all" . hollywood messes up a lot i guess....

LOL , same for me ! I cant help myself from picking apart all the screwups . Even my wife has started commenting when the action hero of whatever it is we're watching runs around with his bottomless magazine . Or when the .357 center mass shot sends the hit person skidding ten feet across the floor ( Point Break )

I was watching Red Dawn with the kids yesterday afternoon and noticed in the final scene when Jed and Matt attack the train station that the Russian Spetznaz Col was carrying a Jatamatic Sub Gun . Which you almost NEVER see in a movie , and doesnt really make a whole lot of sense for a Russian to have anyway .
