concealed carry in bar
I just read a new article stating that Tennesee is trying to pass a bill allowing people with concealed carry permits (in our case LTCF) to carry in Bars. I have no issue with this at all. But the article also states that it would make Tenn the first state to allow this. I thought that it was currently legal to carry in a bar in PA already based on previous postings. forgive my spelling errors as I have been up way too many hours already

Re: concealed carry in bar
It is (legal in PA).
The wisdom of it is another thing entirely (depending upon one's temperment, level of intoxication, etc).

I just wrote a letter to the editor asking for them to correct the innacurate information.

It may be the first state to actually legislate that CC is OK in a bar. All the ones I have ever looked at have either legislated that you must OC, or that you can not carry, or they just allow it(like in Pa.) by not legislating it as a prohibited place... I have not read every states laws though so IDK, but like I said, seems like it may be a technically accurate claim....

Not sure that will do any good...
Despite inaccurate statistics thrown around by the National Rifle Association and it’s supporters, if the bill becomes law, Tennessee will become the FIRST state in the Union to allow loaded concealed firearms by permit holders in bars.

It is also legal in VA, but you must open carry only. Bars in VA have to be restaurants too, some sort of regulation they have.
I also read that in MD there is no restriction against carry in bars and restaurants that sell booze, so if MD went shall-issue it would join the citizen carry in bar club.
Insofar as PA goes, bar carry has been legal for a long time, and finding any stats on modern CCers or OCers going nutty with their guns in bars, is probably like trying to find a wild badger in western PA. ( in other words- it is scarcer than scarce, but not impossible). I do recall 1 "badger" news report last year of an incident at a nightclub. Certainly it is not some everyday "wild west" thing though.LOL, I am a woman...

If the article had said legislate I'd agree, but the article says "Tennessee will become the FIRST state in the Union to allow loaded concealed firearms by permit holders in bars."
Pennsylvania allows loaded concealed firearms in bars. Unless they mean "allows [via legislation]" in which case it's just shitty writing.

I guess I shouldn't expect clear and concise writing from a hack journalist. I don't know what I was thinking!
