Another Convert

Got a new neighbor in the circle this past month, and finally met the man of the house. His wife is always coming out and bringing beer and joking with the rest of us. Anyways, He was helping me move something in my garage on Friday, and he saw my work bench with the press set up on it. He asked a few questions, and that was it. We drank beer.

Then Saturday I took some brass from behind the seat of my pick-up that I was given, and he asked me some more questions. We drank beer. Sunday, he and I did some transactions, I bought a TV, I loaned him some of my handyman skills and tools, and we drank some more beer.

Monday, afternoon, I bought the shotgun, and he finally asked what kind of pistol I had. (the neighbor I bought the shotgun from was going to sell it to him instead of me, but he hesitated.) I told him I just the Taurus and the shotgun with me now. We drank some more beer. He asked a few more questions, and then asked if he could see my pistol. He had never touched or shot a pistol except for 10 rounds in Basic Training (Air Force). I took him upstairs, pulled the baby from her case, double checked that she was empty, and handed her to him. He was very gentle. He then asked: When can we go shoot? I told him we would find some time this week. We drank more beer after I put my baby up.

His wife came over to me while we were outside, and she told me he had been asking about buying a pistol ever since I had first talked to him in my garage. She asked me questions about calibers for home defense, ease of shooting etc... I suggest the first time we go, he rents a .22, and we work up. She wants to go the next time I go without hubby. Neither one had ever considered having a gun in the house before. So, they seem to be hooked already. I'll keep you updated. Oh, and then we drank beer.
