Petition to Congress about Socialist Health Care
Michael Medved (for those who don't know, he's an outspoken Republican radio talk show host, probably one of the top 3 in the country behind Rush and O'Reilly) is petitioning Congress to stop the universal healthcare bill.
Anyone interested in signing, here's the link.

When I was listening to his show on wednesday afternoon, he said he already had over 200,000 votes. His stated goal was 300,000 signatures.

Re: Petition to Congress about Socialist Health Care
I cannot sign that in good faith.
I don't want the same tax breaks employers get when they provide health insurance to employees- I don't want anyone getting tax breaks for health insurance.
Anything subsidized will rise in price relative to the subsidy."If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom ... go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor arms. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." Samuel Adams

Re: Petition to Congress about Socialist Health Care
For the 10,000th time.
We already have socialized health care.. We've had it for for decades.. We just do it in the most expensive and least efficiant way.
You go to the hospital, you get care. Even for a Cold or a Sprained ankle. Which is 100 times more expensive then a doctors visit..
I'm all for a Universal health care system, but do I think that the morons who are currently in Congress (especially the house) are able to put together a system that would actually work?
Not in a MILLION FING YEARS. The Democrats can't do anything in a fiscally logical way, and the Republicans refuse to even take part in the conversation thus letting the Democrats own the issue.. Imagine if what would happen if they both worked together with the Democrats being the ones leading in the goals, and the Republicans in the thick of it to control how much it costs and how it gets paid for.. And while i'm wishing I want a pony..
Though.. I gotta admit on a side note... I'm really damn sick and tired of Dental not being considered health care when it comes to standard insurance..Last edited by Morel42; July 8th, 2009 at 09:14 PM.

Re: Petition to Congress about Socialist Health Care
Just wanted to bump this with an update. The petition was turned in to Congress today with over 1.3 million signatures, the largest policy petition ever submitted to congress. Let's see if they take notice.
