    Default Golden Bear 9mm ammo?

I found a really good price on Golden Bear 9mm ammo and I'm wondering if anyone has used it. Specs:

New Russian Golden Bear brand 9mm ammunition by the CJSC Barnaul Cartidge Plant. Features a 115grn full metal jacketed lead core bullet, brass plated steel case, and non-corrosive berdan primer. Packaged 50rds to a box, and 1,000rds (20 boxes) to a case.

They also have Wolf Military classic, that stuff any good?

    It'll be used in a Glock 17L.

    Hi BCDave,
I have used 9mm Golden Bear. It's an okay ammo. Not great. Shoots dirty but minimal misfires. The casings turn your fingers yellow when loading clips which is really hard to get off so wear gloves. lol
For the price, it's decent and equal if not a little better than wolf.
With the expense of trigger time these days, it's adaquate for range use.
People have warned me about excess wear due to the steel casings but after I've shot 10K rounds or so I'll have the gun fixed with all the money I saved on ammo!
    Cheers

    Mike

cheap ammo, functions fine. If its available and cheaper than brass, or you dont save brass, then buy it up.

it is dirty, but no dirtier than WWB

Good advice and I agree that it leaves no more dirt than wwd or independence.
    lol

I should just make it my sig line

Its good to see all these threads though, means there ammo !

IME the Bear, Wolf, ect leave more powder residue, but that damn WWB leaves also little flecks of copper or brass like tiny grits of sand all up in everything. Id rather clean after the powder myself than the grits.

    Dave,
My bad.. I just realized, my box isn't golden bear.. it's brown. I don't think the golden has laquered casings so you don't have to worry about the yellowing afterall.
    Sorry 'bout that.
