Front Bead Swap?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what to use as thread locker on a new front bead. I bought an XS big dot tritium "epoxy on" front sight that's supposed to epoxy over the front bead (using JB weld in my case). Wasn't until it arrived in the mail that I realized Mossberg 500s require a different bead (they recommend Brownell's #6 or #26 beads .120-.140 diam., 6/48 thread) in order to use the tritium sight. Brownell's sells a drill and tap set for a reasonable price and the beads are cheap, and I'm a fairly handly chap, so I'm gonna DIY it.
My question is do I wanna use red Loctite, or JB weld, or solder, or nothing at all to lock the bead threads? And Is JB weld just as good as Acryl Glass (That's what XS primarily recommends)? Or should I use the leftover red XS factory Loctite from the XS sights I put on my Glock?
