Proofreading rep
You know, that would be a nice feature. I was trying to leave rep for someone just now and I wanted to proof it for typos and it was taking forever when trying to arrow back and forth (sometimes my comments are on the long side) to check it. I finally gave up. I know it's just rep but I think it's nice to look at rep and not see a bunch of typos. Just saying...

It's all good, figured you've taken enough lumps here and help you out before someone decided to be a dick.

Remember XCV on your keyboard.
Ctl-X = cut
Ctl-C = copy
Ctl-V = paste
also Ctl-A = select all. Useful for those long paragraphs that are hidden in small text boxes.

Re: Proofreading rep
Use Firefox....it automatically spellchecks and higlights mispeeled words (I typed this on purpose....all three words are underscored in red indicating they are misspelled)
You simply highlight the misspelled word, right click and it will give you spelling suggestions....then your are done!Last edited by Kodiak; June 26th, 2009 at 11:39 AM.

Re: Proofreading rep
Screw FireFox, I never could understand those types who want you to change a browser for one feature. That's like saying you should buy a whole new car, just because you like 18" rims better than 17s. It's an easy, no brainer fix.
Use this:

Context menu spell checking, instant word lookups (if you're like me, you question whether or not you're using the right words all the time), an all around very useful tool.

Re: Proofreading rep
One feature?
Oh should I list all the other "features" I use with FF?
ForecastFox
FlagFox
Xmarks
TwitterFox
FoxSaver
Ad Block Plus
No Script
just to name a few...
Wait so you are saying IE dosent come with a spellchecker built in?
Im not saying switch to FF for one feature...im saying switch to FF for a considerable amount of great features.
If you dont like FF then you can easily go back to IE......its a free country.Last edited by Kodiak; June 26th, 2009 at 12:58 PM.

Re: Proofreading rep
Hahahah, if you only knew....the only "no brainer" here is switching to firefox.
i was an IE junkie for a long time, primarily cuz I HAD to use it at work... I swapped to firefox earlier this year, and really wished I'd done it sooner.
spell check is one thing, but add the "NoScript" plug in to prevent java and script attacks, and I've not had the HINT of a virus.
Add plug in for weather, its always at the top of my browser.
it automatically imported all my favs, and kept them in the right spots.
Add plug in for ad block, and it stops popups and all ads pretty much.
you can get free plugins for just about anything you want.
if you had the faintest clue how much better Firefox is than IE, you'd drop IE so fast Bill Gates would lose his breath.
and unlike IE, it doesn't make itself unremoveable.
try it, its free."Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH
