Default Car carry? Woman robbed at McIntyre Sq. PNC ATM

I posted the link to this news story in the News forum, but this has me thinking more about how I car carry than I previously was.

    http://forum.pafoa.org/news-123/6328...quare-atm.html

A woman was robbed at gunpoint at 8 AM on a Sunday at the PNC Bank ATM in McIntyre Square. Not exactly when or where I would expect this to happen. But of course you have to be prepared anywhere, any time, these days.

My wife and I use this ATM frequently, so this story has me rethinking my car carry. I'm now going to be carrying my gun where it can be easily accessed if needed (as opposed to my normal pocket carry).

I'm also using this as an opportunity to reinforce the notion of situational awareness wife my wife.

Situational awareness is a big key. I keep trying to get my wife to stop with space between cars so that you can move if something happens. It is a hard thing to remember but it could save your life.

Last time I used the ATM, I walked to it. I hate trying to get my truck up to it just right in that narrow lane. Heh, I should OC to it next time ( yes even my bank is in PA- F MD!)
    LOL, I am a woman...

damn that's the bank i always use too.

I always be sure to leave my car in drive and keep my head on a swivel when at any ATM though since it is easy pickings really. Not unlikely for me to break my gun attached to me rule and let it sit on my lap while doing my incar banking either.
