    Talking Winchester Model 97

    I picked up a Winchester Model 97 at a flea market last weekend. I was wondering where I can get info on the gun. Mechanically it is in real good shape appearance wise it is kind of rough the blueing is just about gone, the receiver is nicked up where the gun now has character. Any info would be nice.
    Funny story after I had bought the gun the seller looked me up and down and said "well you don't look like a felon" My response was "I'm not I got my FFL with me do you want to see it". The guy just deflated. He goes Great I guess your just going to turn it around and make some money on it. There was a guy farther down with one for $600. I had got him to drop the price 50 dollars off his asking price. I want it for Cowboy shooting that is next thing I want to try and the 97 is real popular with those guys.
    I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.
