Re: survival campout- date/time/other info
I will be in attendance as well, doing what instructing I can. There is no hard set course list thus far between 338winmag and I, but I can do a quick rundown of tutorials that we may do, depending on weather/location/your interest;
- Emergency fire making and associated skills. Practical and primitive fire starting methods, finding suitable tinder and kindling, tending a fire safely and efficiently.
-Emergency shelters. Techniques to use with Mylar space blankets, wool blankets, and sil-nylon tarps, along with primitive shelters such as debris huts and lean-to's.
-Food and drink. Both practical and primitive forms of obtaining food and water in the modern wilds. Demonstrations of solar purification, dew bags, solar stills, drop lines, snares, dead falls, and edible flora.
-Emergency navigation and orienteering. Cover use of modern and primitive compasses, topographic maps, etc.
-Backwoods First Aid. The basics of what to do if you or another becomes injured, and help is either delayed or not coming. Dealing with broken bones, dislocated shoulders, snakebites, and dangerous illness.
-Bushcraft tools and their use. Will attempt to cover the 100 and 1 tricks and techniques in using knives of various sizes, hatchets, etc.
I will try to incorporate both primitive and contemporary skills into the lessons. Depending on the skill levels of those in attendance, we can adjust between basic camping 101 to pure primitive.

Re: survival campout- date/time/other info
Sorry I'm not going to be making it, got other commitments already.
Since 2 of you that know whats going on are going to be there maybe one of you can record it, put it up on youtube for the rest of us?The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.
