Default Any car gurus on here in the Delaware County area?

I'm wondering if there's any car gurus on the boards that are local to delaware county area.

I'm mechanically declined (lol) and need someone to see what this belt squealing is on my old '87 T-bird. At least, I think its a belt squeal. Normally, I'd have my stepdad look at it, but he's working 14-hr shifts and has no time to look at my car.

Let me know if anyone is willing to take a peak.

Get a can of silicone spray lube and spray the belt while the engine is running. If it stops but comes back in a couple minutes the belt is probably good but has a glaze on it. Nothing you can do about it. Look at the belt(engine "off") and see if it has cracks or missing chunks. If so, replace it.
Lots of things can cause a belt to glaze over and squeal. One of the biggest is driving in an area that has seen a lot of rain and hitting water puddles and getting water splashed onto a belt while running. this will cause it to slip, and thus cause the glazing.
Question: You weren't dumb enough to drive someplace where it has rained lately, were you? As if you had a choice living here in eastern Rainsylvania!

The belt could be loose. If you have an automatic tentioner, its spring could be going bad. If it is manual, it may need adjustment.
