    is there anyone here in the williamsport area that owns a remington 870?
    i have a nef that i would like to see if the 870 stock will fit on. i need more than just someone saying yes the nef is a copy of the 870 and the stock will fit. i need to see it for myself or hear from someone who put the 870 stock on thier nef. thanks in advance for any help.

    Take your NEF to a gun shop that might carry used 870 stocks. Probably easier to remove your stock ahead of time, but you can alway ask someone behind the counter if they have a tool you can barrow to remove it.

    I say look for a used on, because they probably won;t mind that as much as screwing around with a new one.

    If you want to try it yourself, spend the $5 on a used buttstock, there are plenty of factory stocks for the 870 floating around, since so many people swap out the wood for folders or speed-feed or recoil-absorbing stocks. I'd expect a gunsmith to have a few extras lying around.
