    Default Reloading Beginner

Not to sound stupid, but will a reloading manual give a beginner the info needed to start reloading? I don't know anyone that is available to show me how or sit with me and guide me through.

Most of the powder companies will give you a free reloading booklet. Most of these booklets only cover their own brand of powder, some include others.

Ask each company for a copy of theirs, usually free. There are a couple of good reloading books and cd's out there that have tons of info for the beginner. Check with places such as Midway.

Good luck, and have fun reloading.

2 Good Books that have everything you need to get started.

Lyman's Reloading Manual (Data and overview of the whole process)
    ABC's of Reloading

I used the Lyman book when i started and it helped quite a bit. Also you can never have too much reloading data...

I just placed an order on Amazon for the ABC's of reloading. Where is a good place in the W-B/Scranton area for reloading supplies?

Also, thank you all for replying. When I am ready to get started I'll update and share my progress.

Gander in Dickson City usually has powder, primers (if anyone local does!), some bullets (but you are much better off mail order, even with shipping), and various accessories and stuff. If I want a pound of powder, I'll get it there. Of course, now that the mexican food joint is gone, I'll have a harder time convincing the wife that we "need" to take a ride ;->

If you go to YouuTube, you had better be able to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Signal to noise ratio isn't the best, as there are some absolute looney-tunes posting there and it would be very easy for te unsuspecting, the unknowing, to get way, very very far from sound practices there.

Just keep your BS meter turned on, sensitivity set near the redline.
