    Default Good news

I was talking to my brother tonight about his ability to take his gun and carry in Honduras guess what he told me. You have a state issued CCW in the U.S. they recognize it in Honduras. I going to have get more info to make sure. He has asked me if I would like to go sometime. I might just have to go down with him for a week or two if I'm allowed pack some serious hardware.

Wouldn't that suck, I have more gun rights in Honduras than in Philadelphia.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh... Be careful! Even if that is legal, what makes you think the police know that there? I'd be very, very, very careful about foreign carry... Remember, foreign police are not as nice as even the worst US police.

    http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_p.../cis_1135.html

The Government of Honduras is strictly enforcing the law that requires a Honduran permit for the importation of firearms into Honduras. Travelers must obtain a firearm importation permit from a Honduran Embassy, Consulate General, or Consulate located in the United States prior to bringing firearms into the country. Please note that a U.S. government-issued or airline-issued permit is not valid for importation of firearms into Honduras. Firearms that arrive without the requisite Honduran permit will be confiscated and the bearer will be prosecuted to the full extent of Honduran law.
    Uh, you sure he's right?

That's why I said "I going to have get more info to make sure."

But, thanks for the information you found I'll pass it on to him.

They'll honor your permit, but it is better to have the gun go through customs and have it temporarily registered before you get there. Costa Rica is similar...the weapon has to be registered first.

Does anyone have any info on Brazil regarding carry by "licensed" U.S. citizens?

Like others have said I'd make sure you know EXACTLY what you're getting yourself into before you go. Every watched the show Locked Up Abroad? Doesn't look fun to me...
