Default Some therapy horse photos from today

I wanted to share these, I am not ALL about guns and whips... I love both but I also love horses and I love making people smile or teaching them something new about animals. Today I had the opportunity to do all of that.

We have a mini horse stallion that we use for therapy work. He visited a local school today to allow 3rd graders the chance to see a real horse up close.

What many people don't understand is: Horses by nature are NOT supposed to be this calm and this easy going. It's usually a training issue. It's also deep trust. I have that with all three of my horses. However all THREE have the personalities that are equipped for this work. THEY WANT the attention.

This video shows it the best probably:

Now for the pictures, we had 5 classes of 20 kids come out one group at a time.

Thanks for allowing me to share, the joy is hard to contain for the first few hours back home. Kinda like an awesome day at the range when you get nice close groups and you can't seem to shoot badly.

    Nice work.

I have an exGF that lends her horses, ponies, and mini's out to therapy providers/farms in the Erie and Ohio areas.

Very nice, but you just burst my bubble thinking you're not all about guns and whips....

Ah I sometimes feel a bit shy posting gooey stuff like that. Thanks for putting up with me.
LOL Michele, he almost never has a bad hair day!

Awesome, Lady B. I'd love to get back into riding, but I swore never again on an English saddle, Western only. And I'd feel bad making a horse haul my carcass around.

By the way, can you barbeque a horse that size, and what does it taste like?

Guns and whi... wait. what? I musta' missed something.

Oh, yeah. That's awesome. I'm sure everyone had a good time.
    Thanks for sharing the photos!

It's been probably 20 years since I've been around horses.
I miss the smells... the horses, the saddles, the feed... all of it.
Take a good, deep breath of that barn air for me.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Well, if anyone around the Pittsburgh area feels the same way then there's some handicapped children that could use your help.

Me and my brother (my brother and I) volunteer with RHWPA (Riding for the Handicapped of Western PA) and we always need volunteers.

    http://www.rhwpa.tk/

It's really cool to work with all the horses and put a smile on a kids face. If anyone wants to volunteer let me know!
