For those of you who follow foreign news sources (i,e. BBC) this whole proposal smacks of the British sort of nanny regulations that seem to now be on the agenda now that more left wing interests have taken over the executive office in Wash DC. Basically, the Brits have been on a big campaign to eliminate knife violence (having "eliminated" handguns---yeah sure), even going to the point of commissioning a specially designed kitchen knife to reduce the likelihood of this most common of household implements being used by "criminals, children and the mentally incompetent" to quote the article I read last week.

Personally I think I need to get one of those assisted open knives now. Don't you just love our wonderful gov't?
