Default big long OCing in New Freedom today

Had BTA88 and ddog meet me today as sceduled ( no one else showed up unless they had seen the original 1pm and didn't note the change- sorry if anyone showed up at 1 and had to say "what the hey?").

I decided to go up there early and just walk around to bide my time . Certainly walking won't hurt me, my still plus sized figure certainly benefits from long walks. The day was plain beautiful, perfect temps, lower humidity, sunny, nearly all blue sky, and a slight and pleasant breeze.

Now I was wussy and CC'd for my early bird walk ( 3/4 mile total maybe), and coming back I was thirsty so I walked to the Rutters store where ddog was getting off work, but he was already gone LOL. I walk in and the a/c made me not as thirsty as before, so seeing ddog wasn't there, I walked back out. Outside the door I saw- OMG some dude OCing! It was BTA88 and he recognized me from my "beaver pic" LMAO ( in the hottie hunter thread- I am holding a beaver- the animal- nothing porno there). He was lost LOL, 1 blook from the restaurant! So he offered me a ride back there so I could tell him where to turn to park. Then when I got out he was like " you aren't OC!", so I went to my truck , unlocked the door, tore my vest off and said
    "now I am " LOL.

Next was trying to figure out where ddog was at. I spotted a car fitting his description, but we didn't go inside till BTA was finished his cigarette, and sure enough ddog was sitting at a table waiting for us LOL. He should have seen us, we were right out there and he had a huge window to look out of, but heh I guess our OCing wasn't playing loud music and there were no cops hassling anyone in the parking lot, to be a big give-a-way.

So we all had a late lunch, BTA I think would rather eat at a different place next time ( he didn't care for the sub sandwich he got too much, but my pizza sure tasted good). I was the one sitting strong side out where anyone looking could see my XD40 in my sexy leather thumbreak holster. No one seemed to notice, not even the waitress. If she did, she didn't say a peep. BTA was wearing an XD45 in an XD gear holster ( I'm going to make him a leather thumbreak holster, mag pouch, and hopefully a nice thick gun belt)

After we ate we decided to "be obnoxious" ( note: this is merely sarcasm!) and walk on the rail trail down to about the mason dixon line. BTA was worried we might walk into PRMD, but I know where the friggin line is at, so I knew where to stop with some safe distance still between us and IT. Ddog wasn't carrying anything but his phone, as he is 18, and hasn't had a parent buy him a handgun, plus he would have to ride with/give the gun to an LTCF or other lisc'd person to transport from where he lives.

Now a while back someone here had written to the York county parks folks about the "no weapons" on their signage being in violation of pre-emption. The signs are still there with that on them, but it doesn't do diddle so I'm not really concerned. But the York county parks people did inform their rangers of the legality of CC and OC in county parks, and part of the letter that was posted had it where it said the rangers, if coming upon an OCer, would ask if they might cover it up LMAO! Yeah right...

So anyway, we walked from New Freedom to just shy of the north side of the mason dixon line. We talked about forum stuff, cracked jokes about PRMD and what the Welcome to MD and Welcome to PA signs should say, and walked past or had walking by us, a decent amount of people- including children OMGZ!1!! BTA said one kid gave a wide eyed look towards us- you know the curious excited look. Now it is debateable wether this little boy was seeing the guns, or if he was gawking at me. For some reason little kids just go nuts about me sometimes, this has been going on since I was maybe 10. Babies stare at me alot too. Positive stuff, as if they just plain like me.

Coming back I once again joked about walking by the police station, so BTA said, "where is it at now?". So we walked up there LOL, walked past, saw no one ( New Freedom's SRPD building always looks like the dead inhabit it). We were now walking down Constitution ave ( BTA wanted to know where Bill of Rights ave was, but I don't think there is one there...) and BTA realizes he lost his phone- sooooo- we walk past the police station again- our strong sides showing this time! On our backtrack a couple walked by us and said hi or smiled or something as they walked by, but nothing else. Police station still looked like a tomb. A car or 2 drove by. Well we finally found his phone, after walking back down the trail again. See it's nice to be in an area with a low lowlife population where you can drop your phone and it's still there 15-20 mins later. Of course we had just been walking the trail before and if any lowlifes were around they no doubt scattered at seeing us OCing the first time around.

When we got back to where we parked, I went in the restaurant to get a soda as I was dehydrated and hot from all that walking in the sun. There were some people in there at tables, and when I turned strong side I didn't hear any shreiking from the women, fainting sounds, or men saying "oooh nice gun!".

Ddog had to go home, but BTA was up for some target shooting, so we both cleared and stowed our guns and ammo, and he followed me back into PRMD. My arm is hurting from firing that Mauser rifle LOL. Yes he had rifles in his trunk LOL. We also shared a mag from his XD45. Then he had to go, it was getting late and he had a long drive home.

Anyway, this was my first REAL DANGED REAL OC. Right out there, the public being around, people from MD scattered about, walking by a police station twice- not just an OC at a restaurant then we all go home type deal.

And NOTHING happened! This is a real confidence booster for me. I'm going to have to OC at the Rite Aid, pet store, and Goodwill store now LOL. Heck maybe I can make a habit of going to the rail trail a couple times a week for a loooong walk to burn some of my lard off me ( walking a mile or more at a time at a brisk pace really burns the fat off me btw). I mean if no one notices or cares I am OCing...
    LOL, I am a woman...

First of all, great writeup on the day. Today was great, I had a lot of fun. I've never OCed with anyone before, I'm used to being the lonely carrier where ever I go. It was great meeting you guys, too

Just a couple of revisions for ya...

There's a few things wrong here. First of all, it's a hoagie, not a "sub" but yeah, someone should give them a hint in making a quality sandwhich... First of all, and most importantly, the bread was more of a glorified pita dough, it was just wrong. Next, there has to be enough "stuff" on it that you have to have technique to actually get it in your mouth without the stuff falling out of it. That thing might as well have been a couple slices of salami on white bread lol... And lastly, sorry ddog, but cheesesteaks don't come on pita-esque bread with lettuce and other crud on it. Cheese, chipped beef (or select cut steak if you're in south Philly), and optional fried onions. Anything else is just Red China garbage

To be fair, the reason I had the rifles in my trunk is because I was at the range yesterday and didn't get home until around 1am, when it was pouring down rain and wasn't really feeling like removing them and getting them all wet.

haha so there's my comments on this post You guys really missed out, though, wish there were a few more folks

Well I took a New shooter to my clubs shoot.
    He's hooked now!!!

    Plus my shoulder is sore,also!

Last shot at the rifle stage, didn't have the rifle shouldered properly.

Ever had a .338 WM, not in position? If not, You'll remember it!!!!!

Ironic, actually, I took a good friend of mine for his first range trip yesterday. He and I have been talking about buying guns and carrying since we were stupid kids in highschool, he was having second thoughts so I took him to the range and now he's hooked on getting one as soon as possible!

haha never a .338 WM, but my first time out with the 8mm, I decided to be cool and sporter shoot it. I didn't hold it properly, and boy oh man, I won't forget that one. wizzegun can attest to that, he was with me at the time

I guess I'm a bit more "adventurous" since my first OCing in a public place had several hundred people there AND I was at a playground. I do enjoy reading these stories even when there are no police encounters. It's nice to see people aren't having their rights violated.

Glad to hear your first outting in public turned out better than mine though.

That was not her first time, She has OC'd before.
She's just too shy to do it herself.

OK I misunderstood. I took from the end of the story that the only places she had OC'd before were private establishments (restaurants and such).

Yeah, that's were she OC'd, but it was at OC/CC lunches, dinners, or when no one else has been around.
Like I said, she is OC alone shy. We are working on getting her confidence built up. I had a prior commitment, or I would have been there today.
