There was a car chase from Nazareth, PA that ended on 611 north just past 423 (by Tobyhanna Army Depot entrance). All radio traffic on the Northampton county north freq stopped. Figured everybody crashed. 2 PSP units and another township unit from somewhere around Analomink were trying a rolling road block on the vehicle the last my radio picked up. Then all communications stopped.

The suspect abducted his child from the mother's home in Nazareth at gun point and led police on a slow chase, just refused to stop, down here. He struck cruisers multiple times, and missed the stop sticks atleast 3 times. Once they got through Stroudsburg, they picked up a total of 3 PSP units, 2 Stroud Regional and one township cruiser. It sounded like another PSP Swiftwater unit intercepted at 940 right before 611. What a way to spend your final hour with your child for many, many years.

Just heard that the mother is on the way up to the hospital. Hopefully everyone involved comes out is OK.

COOLBAUGH TWP., MONROE COUNTY- Police from several agencies are on the scene of an incident near Tobyhanna.

Ambulances and lifeflight helicopters were called to that location after reports of a shooting. Eyewitness News has learned that at least two people have been shot. There are unconfirmed reports that the two people shot were both PA State Troopers.

Right now Route 611 is closed from Route 423 to I-380.

There are reports that the incident in Tobyhanna occurred at the end of a high speed chase that may have originated in Northampton County.

Eyewitness News has several crews in the Poconos and we'll have more information as it become available here on PAHomePage.com and a live report on Eyewitness News at 11.
