Stupid question

I woke up last night thinking. The question That popped into my head was:

If the anti gun people hate guns so badly why don't they buy them? Then have them destroyed. Sure the gun manufactures could make more. But the effort would bring publicity to their cause.

Is this one of those instances that they believe in something, but only to the point that it does not cost them personally.

My thoughts:

Seems like it would be counter-productive to their "cause".

Stats would show an increase in gun sales to legal owners.

Manufacturers would make more guns, again showing an increase...not the kind of publicity the Brady Bunch wants.

every time i hear an anti start spreading the word, or a member of peta or any other "cause" that some feel so passionately about, One vision comes to mind.

During the Veitnam war, there is a famous picture of a buddist monk setting himself on fire in protest over the war. Even if you didn't agree with his views, you had to respect his dedication to his beliefs. He truely cared about what his beliefs were.

My Grandfather used to have a saying, "If you truely cared, you'd set yourself on fire."

Imagine the impact, a whole group of antis gathered together in a field with all the media around. They all take a big drink of the cherry kool-aid, then douse themselves with gasoline (bad for the environment, start another movement) and just before they all light a match in unison, the leader speaks of how this is a symbolic gesture and they want their words to be heard. Now THAT, would make an impression. anything short of that, its just words....

I'll tell you right now, I would give up one of my guns for every brady bunch member that sets themselves on fire, no doubt. I would, of course, go buy a replacement afterward though...... I bet they run out of bradys before the gun store runs out of guns......

Because the majority of people are only willing to run their mouth and complain instead of get off their butt and do something about a perceived problem. “Someone else should really do something about that!”

cuz they want someone to blame all these crimes that are happening with guns....they cant find anyone to blame so they turn to us gun owners..
