SHTF Books: Informative and Entertaining.
I posted something like this a long time ago. I tried a search and couldn't find it again.
Anyway, I'm almost done with PATRIOT's. If you haven't read it. I'm recommending it. Good read. Lots of things you have never thought of are brought up in the book. They guy writting it did his homework and it shows. You will have a new look at being prepared after reading this book.
I have read WWZ and Zombie Survival Guide. Good fun books. ZRT members, the Survival Guide is required reading in case your looking for something.
Looking for another good book on SHTF stuff. An entertaining book is prefered. But don't want one with the guy killing a whole brigade with a KABAR knife. I prefer something at least trying to be a bit realistic and informative.
Also, any books on basic info for SHTF that has some really good info in it. There are so many out there. Which ones really have good info in them and are worth reading? The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

Bostons Gun Bible by Boston T. Party, SAS Survival Handbook by John Wiseman, Survival Guns by Mel Tappan, and Gurrrela Gunsmithing by Rangar Benson. Just some of my favorites.

I really didn't want to acknowledge or share this but you have to check out this picture.
My family wants to see David Cook in concert so I got up early last Saturday morning at 3AM to take them to the fairgrounds to get in line. Well, closer to the time the ticket booth opened up, we got in our chairs. The best part about this picture is that to shut out the chatty libs sitting next to us, I went to the truck and got my range headphones. As I sit there, I'm concealed carrying my XD(M) and reading the book, "Patriots." I was tired and a little cranky but the lady from the radio station walked up and got down in my face and asked if I was a New England Patriots fan. It startled me for one thing, and secondly, since I had no idea who she was and she was invading my space, my reply was, "are you out of your mind?" LOL

I think I have mentioned this one before but I liked "Lights Out."

Re: SHTF Books: Informative and Entertaining.
Anyone read "One Second After" ? It got some good reviews. But prefer to hear from you guys on what you thought of it. Sounds something like "Lights Out".
Boston Gun Bible is one I'm getting next. That and the SAS Survival Guide.
Also read some good stuff about a book called 98.6 Degrees. In a nut shell, you can go about 10 days without food. You can go 3 days without water. But if your body temp drops below 98 degrees, your in big trouble. It is a book on how to stay warm in any situation. Sounded interesting. Got some really good reviews. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

FYI - The SAS Survival Guide is avaliable in a "Collins Gem" version. It's about 4'' by 3" in size and only costs $8 at Borders, Waldenbooks, etc. I also have the fullsize version, but that casts $25-$30. Regardless of size, they have the same info. I have several Gems for glovebox, BOB's, etc.

Re: SHTF Books: Informative and Entertaining.
I just got done reading a pretty goos book called "Emergency:This book will save youe life" by a guy named Neill Strauss. It was pretty entertaining, probably a lot less hard-core than some others. It is basically non-fiction written in first person by a california liberal writer who, after being assigned to cover a doomsday type cult on Y2K, decides to prepare himself for a disaster. I reccommend it.

Re: SHTF Books: Informative and Entertaining.
Just about done with Patriots. So I headed off to Barnes and Nobel to get another book.
They did not have a single book that you all recommended to me early on.
One Second After
Boston Gun Bible
SAS Survival Guide.
98.6 Degrees.
None of them, I was so bummed out. They were available for order, but heck, if I'm going to do that, I can find them cheaper on the Internet.
I have downloaded Lights Out and it will be my next read. I'm still looking and keeping a list of recommended books. So, if anyone else has a suggestion, I would love to hear it.The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....
