State of PA thinks you're a domestic terrorist if-
I was reading a few blogs (like SayUncle) recently and found that the state of Alabama basically listed some libertarian viewpoints as those of "Domestic Terrorists". To my surprise, when I looked up the link, it said that the "Terrorist Awareness Program" was adapted from one authored by the PA Dept of Health and Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Click here if you want to see it (link).
So then I searched and found that the Terrorist Awareness Program in PA was still posted on the web here (link). So besides for the fact that they pretty much say if you think gun control is wrong, the UN sucks, etc you are a terrorist, they also have the Gadsden Flag (pic posted below), which is not only a symbol used by libertarians, but also has a historical basis with the Revolutionary war. So putting it next to the words "Who Are Terrorists" was enough to set me off.
I'm not sure if anyone else here does, but I hang this flag below Old Glory on national holidays. It's why we're here. I think it's an outrage for the state to cast aspersions on those who fly it by posting it on the Domestic Terrorist page.
I have more on my blog here (link) if you're interested.
I guess if you were wondering what the mainstream bureaucratic thought on those who are pro 2nd Amendment is that you're a domestic terrorist.
I've written my (D) legislator, the website, and my state senator (D) with no response yet.

Re: State of PA thinks you're a domestic terrorist if-
The day I got married, we had people from all over including Australia, As we belonged to a Christian chat at the time, every one in the chat was invited... 2 girls came from Australia to visit and decided they would attend. This was pre 9/11 I was wearing a Kilt, and that was pretty normal to her, untill I did a 180 military turn and the Kilt went up and she happened to be sitting right there, that Terrorized her... She claimed to my wife I had a concealed weapon!!!
Dont take much to terrorise some people, I can only immagine if i had a gun that day, she would have really freakedSkeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.

That was absurd in the extreme. I wrote the following to their contact address and I will let you know if I receive any response.
I would like to know the source of the information used to describe domestic terrorism? From my reading of your page I would have to consider anyone who is either a true conservative or libertarian to be a terrorist. Surely this is not what you mean when you describe such people. Certainly people who are averse to illogical gun control laws, expansion of government into personally private matters or feel that the country is ceding too many of our Constitutionally guaranteed rights to the United Nations are not all terrorists. I think that there is a strong need to rethink this page and address many issues that are illogically defined within it, removing the inordinate amount of generalizations for proper definitions would be a good start.

I don't take exception to terrorism awareness at the link you provided, but they certainly could have done more to differentiate active shooters from armed terrorists.
And using the Gadsden flag as a "bad guy" icon is entirely inappropriate, bordering on offensive. Apparently the web authors wen't paying attention in history class. (Gadsden flag history) Any symbol of the US effort for independence, for that matter.

Looks like a C quality social studies assignment from a 7th grade daughter of a hippie.
That quiz was absolutely absurd. I'm not sure who pa-aware.org is but I sure as hell hope they're not State funded.
EDIT: Didn't look around enough. It is. What a bunch of crap.Last edited by D-FENS; May 19th, 2007 at 05:38 PM.

It is a shame that if you believe in the Republic as it was founded and The Constitution....and quote the Founding Fathers and believe in the dream they had....you are labeled an extremist.
