Why are people throwing away guns???

I remember a couple of weeks ago, someone found tons of WWII weapon in a creek and now shotguns and rifles were found in a wooded area here in York:

Tell me. It about broke my heart when I read that someone threw those guns in the creek...especially the Thompson. Didn't hear about the York incident though.

Damn if i ever find long guns lying around in the tree line like that, Im gonna take em home and give them a very nice home, My promise to them is i will feed them a regular diet and bath them lolol..

That is my take on it too.
I saw that story about the Tommy gun and Japanese war relic guns. What a shame. I hope they find their way to a museum. I think if we ever hear the whole story there it is going to be something like: Guy had a collection, showed it to the wrong person, wrong person made a comment, to inflict a little profuse sweating, about "maybe I'll turn you in for the reward". That would cause me to dump an illegal, although valuable collection. I might also be tempted to dump the guy who threatened to turn me in. Note: I said "tempted".
