    Default Sig P226

I inherited a Sig P226 and picked it up yesterday. It came with .40 S&W and .357 Sig barrels and some sort of double recoil spring for 9 mm.

I don’t know much about this model. Is there anything I need to watch out for or any worthless trivia that is good to know?

One of the best pistols ever made, the most accurate 9mm production pistol built, Oh and the fact the British SAS traded thier Browning Hi powers for these, which is a very big decission since they loved the Browning.
Also the U.S. Navy Seals use the P226.
You feed them anything and they will eat it, you got yourself one of the finest combat pistols ever.

Thanks, I was going to tell him sell right away, but you blew that one. LMAO.

Seriously, he is correct about the 226. I never owned a 226 but have several other sigs, and I can say probable one of the most accurate and best built guns today. Get plenty of ammo and have a ball.

The Sig P-226 is one of the finest full size 9mm ever produced. Mine is
26 years old and with the 22 cal Conversion by Sig, is still a geat pistol.
I am sure if you have others, you can get a tremendous amount of info

mine is 18 years old and i absolutely love it. haven't had a single problem with it and ive fired probably +5000 rounds out of it since i got it 4 years ago. its very nicely balanced, and while not the best size for the CC gun (which i use it for), it will go bang every time you need it to.

welcome to the darkside, because one sig will quickly turn into many.

My friend from the communist state of NY has a Sig P226. Since he lives there he can only have 10 rd mags. We were at an IDPA shoot last month and the bottom half of his mag snapped off right where the metal meets the plastic. He checked his two other mags and they were cracked and ready to break at the same spot. He wound up duct taping them and finishing the match. Have any of you seen this problem? I don't know if the high cap mags are all steel or not but if they aren't I would keep an eye out for this. Sig is going to replace them all for free, but he has to send in all the broken ones first and they have a 4-6wk lead time on the new ones. Other than the mags his gun has been flawless.

I took it to French Creek today and put just over 100 rounds through it.

I AM IN LOVE. I may have lost a nephew but I gained a fine piece of shooting iron.
